Circus Space is a registered charity and the national centre for circus arts. Based in a magnificent Victorian power station adjacent to Hoxton Square, London, we involve thousands of people in circus arts every year. Our work includes the UK’s only BA Hons degree in Circus Arts, progressive training for under 18s and professional development opportunities for performers. Adults and young people can take part in a range of recreational classes as well as workshops and away days for the business community. Over half of the annual income needed to run Circus Space comes from grants and donations.

Leap in to the void - a photomontage by Yves Klein - was one of the points of reference for Up Sky Down. Using a surrealist aesthetic allows us to challenge conventions of reality. The world we have portrayed in Up Sky Down reminds us that there is a dialogue with gravity, a world where we can fall into the sky and fly to the ground.
