Questions?   Submit   Circus Space is a registered charity and one of Europe’s leading providers of circus education. Based in a magnificent Victorian power station adjacent to Hoxton Square, we involve thousands of people in the creation and performance of circus arts every year. Over half of the annual income needed to run Circus Space comes from grants and donations.

Our diverse range of work includes the UK’s only BA Hons degree in Circus Arts, a structured progressive training programme for under 18s and professional development opportunities for aspiring and established performers. Adults and young people can take part in a range of recreational classes and we provide workshops and away days for the business community.

    Academics?

    Hello!

I am from the U.S. and hope to become part of your degree program in the next few years. How much consideration do you give academics when considering applicants? What kind of academic requirements do I have to fulfill as a foreigner in order to be considered?

    Thank you!

    Jessie

Hi Jessie - academic qualifications are a factor, but the most important thing is skill and potential. Take a look at this page on our website as it might help:

And we’d also really recommend dropping our degree team a line on degree.admissions@circusspace.co.uk for further info.

    Thanks,

    Circus Space

    Circus Arts Degree funding

Our Circus Arts Foundation and BA Hons Degree is funded like other Higher Education university courses - so if you’re from the UK and haven’t already done a degree you will be able to receive a student loan to cover your fees and help with living costs. There are also some bursaries available for those from low-income households.

If you are from outside the UK, or already have a degree, different criteria will apply. We’d recommend contacting our degree team on degree.admissions@circusspace.co.uk so they can give you the correct information for your particular situation.

regarding the degree course, i know you dont specialize untill late in the first year, how much say do you get in what you specialize in? is it a good or a bad thing knowing what you would want to specialize as early as the audition process

Hi - the course is designed for you to try a variety of skills and decide along with your teachers which is best for you. If you have a skill you’re already good at it will be a help in your audition, though we prefer students to have an open mind about their specialisation when they come to us so that they can explore their options in the first year.

    Thanks,
